Dr. Sankar Mukhopadhyay and I discuss the mental distress caused by job loss. He studies how individuals in Medicaid Expansion states fared better after a job loss compared to those in Medicaid Nonexpansion states. We focus on his working paper, “The effects of Medicaid expansion on job loss induced mental distress during the COVID-19 pandemic in the US.” Sankar is a Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno in the economics department.
